The classic drama, Gringo, will hit the big screens April 2013. Long awaited Zim movie
The 7Arts Theatre yesterday came to life as people laughed the night away at the premiere of the new Gringo movie titled ‘Gringo Troublemaker’.
The movie centres around the hilarious actions of Gringo, played by Lazarus Boora, and his partner in crime, Mbudziyadhura, played by Blessing Chimhowa.
Produced by Enock Chihombori, the movie’s storyline that is backed by a superb cast that keeps the viewer glued for the duration of the 110min movie.
“It has not been an easy journey for us as we did not have the funds to finish the movie by the proposed date,” said Chihombori. ”But after all the struggling and putting in all the financial resources, we have managed to come up with the best of what Zimbabwe can offer to the world,”
Chihombori also encouraged people to refrain from pirating the movie.
“We waited a long time for this to come together, “ said Boora. “ We didn’t want to rush things and wanted to produce a quality product. There are more things that we are planning for the future but we want to first see how this project works out.”
Actor and former Big Brother Africa participant, Munya Chidzonga, said he was inspired by the movie and particularly impressed by its sound and picture quality.
“As an industry, we are definitely onto something good and I believe history is being made,” said Chidzonga. “I was so excited as if it was my own movie. The characters were very good and the script was well written. I encourage people to watch the movie.”
The movie will be shown in cinemas throughout the country before it is made available for sale to the public. Zimbojam
